On May 1st, 2011, my cousin Tyler ended his life.

He was a passionate lover - he loved food, skydiving, people, and he loved to run.
To honor my cousin, I am going to run in the 2012 Flying Pig Marathon, one year after his death,
to raise suicide awareness and something I call love awareness.

This is where I will record the journey.
I also hope that this blog will be a resource to anyone
in a similar situation to help them along.

Rest in peace, Tyler. I love you.

Bumps in the road...

Well folks, it seems that I may have to take a brief hiatus from running for two reasons. One, I will be busy at a youth conference all next week and literally will not have any time. But also because of the stress of grieving for Tyler, and probably the running and working out as well, I have lost 10 or so pounds which is really not good considering that I was only 93 pounds to begin with. I feel like my appetite has fully recovered finally, but I need to figure out this weight thing and get it under control before I can continue training. I will for sure be doubling up on what I eat for the next couple of weeks. This will not stop me for long.

In other news, my cousin Matt (Tyler's step brother) had an emergency surgery to remove his appendix this morning. The surgery went well, thank God, but if you could please pray for a fast and comfortable recovery for him, that would be wonderful. In even more news, my cousin Kyle graduated from college. Congrats, Ky!
